Pittsburgh Safe Neighborhoods Meeting

The Pittsburgh Community Reinvestment Group’s Safe Neighborhoods program will be hosting another city-wide meeting and training on neighborhood safety strategies.

Safe Neighborhoods is a collaborative network of block watches across Pittsburgh. Sponsored by PCRG, our goal is to bring neighborhood public safety activists together to share strategies, discuss root causes of crime across communities, receive training from public safety experts, and build safe communities from the grass roots up.

Join us from 9am to noon on Saturday, December 20th in the PCRG Conference Room as we continue our cross-community discussion and training on cutting-edge strategies to keep our neighborhoods safe.

Christmas in South Pittsburgh


Brookline Block Watch Christmas Party: Dec. 9th, 7pm, Magistrate Charles McLaughlin’s Office at 736 Brookline Blvd.

Breakfast wtih Santa: Dec. 20th, 11am, Brookline Recreation Center. $2 charge per person


Throughout December, the Beechview Lion’s Club is having their annual candy and nut sale. Purchases can be made at ESB Bank. Also, the Friends of the Library are selling Page-a-Day Booklovers’ Calendars for just $6 each!

Christmas Cookie Sale: December 13th, 10am-3pm, Beechview United Presbyterian Church. Come buy some tasty cookies!

Holiday Clean Up: December 27th, 9am, meet at the electronic signboard at Broadway and Hampshire Avenues. Join Pretty Up Beechview for a neighborhood clean up. PUB will provide gloves and trash bags.


Spencer United Methodist Church is having a covered dish dinner at 6 pm on Sunday December 14th. Doors open at 5:30 pm.There will be entertainment by John Lege, with a rescued bird show. Please bring a covered dish.
