The City of Pittsburgh, Department of Pubic Works, Bureau of Transportation and Engineering, will hold a Public Meeting Open House concerning the Improvements to Brookline Boulevard from Pioneer Avenue to Starkamp Street.

The purpose of this Public Open House is to update the status of the project, display preliminary plans, and discuss potential impacts.  Public comment on the project is welcomed. Representatives from the City of Pittsburgh and their consulting team will be available for questions and discussion.  Refreshments will be provided.

Neighborhood Walk Score

Community members in Carrick are working to improve their Walk Score. Walk Score is a website that allows people to populate a map with neighborhood amentities so that people interested in moving to the community know what stores and services will be nearby. Check out how much Carrick has added to the map!

This is a great (and FREE!) tool to advertise your neighborhood to potential future residents. Anyone can add to the map, so start populating the map with all of the great things your communtiy offers!

Neighborhood Clean Ups

As part of the City’s Redd Up Campaign, there will be the following clean-ups in South Pittsburgh

Brookline: April 18th, 9am. Meet at the United Presbyterian Church, 1036 Brookline Boulevard.

Beechview: April 25th, 9am. Meet in the parking lot at the corner of Broadway and Hampshire Avenues.

Carrick: April 25th, 10:30am. Meet at the Carrick Shopping Center at the intersection of Brownsville Road and Parkfield Street.
