Upcoming Events:

  • Saturday October 30th, 4-9p.m.: Banksville Halloween Party at Banksville Park


  • A new grocery store, IGA, is expected to open in the former Foodland in March 2011
  • Right By Nature is offering a delivery service to Beechview residents
  • The Beechview Merchants Association have opened a storefront office at 1553 Broadway Avenue
  • TRID planning meetings will begin in the last week of October

  • Saturday September 18th, 10am-12noon: Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh community workshop at St. Catherine’s McCann Hall
  • Saturday September 25th, 9am-3pm: Beechview Big Flea on Beechview and Broadway Avenues
  • Wednesday September 29th, 7pm: Beechview Merchants Association Meeting with guest speaker John Burke of the URA at 1553 Broadway Avenue


  • New banners have been installed on Brookline Boulevard

  • Saturday October 2nd, 4-7 p.m.: Resurrection Church Women’s Guild Spaghetti Dinner at Quinn Hall. Adults: $6; Under 12: $4; Choice of meat or marinara sauce; Salad, bread & butter, cheese, coffee, tea and huggies included; Meatballs: $.50; Desserts: $.50 and $1; Tickets available at rectory and at the door

  • The Carrick, Overbrook, Bon-Air Corn Fest was successful
  • Overbook t-shirts are for sale for $1 each
  • The Carrick-Overbrook Historical Society is selling calendars for $7.50 each and historical post cards for .50 each
  • The Overbook Firehouse will be dedicated as the Fran Accamando Community Center in Spring 2011
  • The Overbrook Community Council has a new computer, wireless modem and wireless printer/scanner/copier
