Community Update


  • A new coffee shop will be opening in Beechview as a non-profit. Renew Pittsburgh and Cannon Coffee are working on the project together
  • The Pittsburgh Housing Development Corporation has started to sell the houses they renovated. For information on purchasing a home, call 412-255-6600.
  • Beechview Bundle Up is collecting gently used winter gear. Donations can be made at the Beechview library.

  • PennDot shared their plans for the Route 51 + Route 88 intersection at a public meeting
  • National architects studied Route 51 from the Liberty Tubes to the Elizabeth Bridge. Their presentation can be found here.

  • Tuesday October 26th, 7pm: Overbook Community Council meeting featuring guest speaker Detective Ruffalo to discuss when residents should call 911
  • Saturday October 30th, 11am: Carrick Halloween Parade. Line-up begins at 10am at the corner of Sankey Avenue and Brownsville Road
