November 2010 Community Update


Upcoming Events:

  • Friday December 10th, 6-9p.m.: Banksville Christmas Party at Banksville Park


  • Beechview Bundle-Up had a successful year and the remaining winter gear will be donated to St. Vincent de Paul to give to distribute at their food banks.

Upcoming Events:

  • Saturday November 27th, Noon-3pm: Kids visit with Santa at the Beechview United Presbyterian Church. Crafts, snacks and a picture with Santa will be available. Please pre-register by calling Sue Pfeuffer
  • Thursday December 2nd, 7pm: Beechview Area Concerned Citizens and Block watch First Thursday meeting with Senator Wayne Fontana and Wayne Hancock, the owner of the future IGA
  • Saturday December 11th, 9am-3pm: Beechview United Presbyterian Church Cookie Sale and Christmas Flea Market at the Beechview United Presbyterian Church


  • ALDI’s grocery store has opened at the intersection of McNeilly Road and Sussex Avenue.
  • WQED ran a feature “Have you Been to Brookline?” and is available online here

  • Monday November 29th, 7:30-8:30pm: Brookline Area Concerned Citizens Christmas party at St. Mark’s Church
  • Saturday November 27th, 5pm-10pm: Brookline Chamber of Commerce Christmas Social at Cannon Coffee.  Santa, cookies, pretzels, pizza, crafts and story time.



  • The Carrick-Overbrook historical society is selling calendars and post cards with historical pictures
